About
Born and raised in southern California, like so many others Ms. Long came to the Central Coast to attend California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where she received her bachelor's degree in Political Science and her master's degree in United States History. She has been a resident of the Central Coast now for over 20 years.
Before opening Long Historic Preservation Services LLC, Ms. Long spent 10 years in the cultural resource management industry, working in land use and environmental planning, and specializing in architectural history. She meets the Secretary of the Interior's Standards as a historian and architectural historian. Ms. Long has a strong background working with the California Environmental Quality Act and Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

Ms. Long is passionate about responsible management of built environment resources including creative mitigation strategies to resolve the needs of all interested parties. She is able to pull from her experience in land use planning to help clients understand the nuances of how the California Environmental Quality Act impacts their projects. She works closely with public agencies to ensure projects are consistent with state, local, and federal cultural resource management policies and standards.
